Hello

My name is Lindsay Day

Thank you for your interest in my services as a counselor. You have taken the first difficult step toward healing and growth, of which I have a passion and desire to facilitate. I have an interest in working with individuals and teens; with a strong interest in both domestic violence and body image, and ADHD. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (2015) and I hold a Master's degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family counseling (2020), both from Portland State University. I have completed trainings that include risk assessment and mandated reporting, implicit bias, a 40-hour Domestic Violence training, and an Internal Family Systems (IFS) training. I have a strong passion for social justice and advocating for real systemic change for marginalized populations. As a white, cisgender, heterosexual woman, I recognize, continue to learn about, and acknowledge my privileges and how I can better show up for those whose voices are silenced.

I personally strive to be a lifelong learner and continue to grow my cultural competence as a counselor so that I may be better informed of the diverse clientele and their experiences that I hope to see and work with. As someone who holds several privileged identities, I will continue to be aware of and acknowledge the privileges that come with having those identities and how it will impact my work and future clients moving forward. I also believe strongly that mental health services and counseling should be accessible to all. I will use my privilege and position to advocate for accessibility for all in the need of mental health services and support.
