Philosophy and Approach:

My goal as a counselor is to facilitate personal growth and insight for individuals seeking change and meaning in their lives. Utilizing a Person-Centered approach, my counseling focuses on aiding clients on their journey of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and positively relating to others. My aim is to help clients clarify and articulate goals and support them in their achievement. I provide a safe space, void of any judgement, where clients can feel secure and supported in their expressions of feelings, thoughts, and reactions.

 

Your participation in treatment and all information about you is confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone without your written consent. However, by law, there are a few exceptions to this rule: 1) cases of suspected abuse or neglect of a child or elder, in which case I must file a report with the appropriate state agency; 2) cases in which I believe that you present a clear and imminent danger to yourself or to another person; 3) cases in which a court subpoenas me to testify or subpoenas my records.

 

Formal Education and Training:

I hold a Master’s degree (MS) in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Portland State University (2020). I also hold a Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Psychology, also earned at Portland State University (2015). Major Coursework includes, Developmental Foundations of Counseling, Theories and Interventions I and II, Using Tools and Assessments Counseling, Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, Contemporary Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, the Family Life Cycle, Group Therapy, Ethical and Legal Issues, and Multicultural Perspectives. 

 

As a Licensed Professional Counselor registered with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, I abide by its Code of Ethics.  I also abide by the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics. To maintain my license, I am required to participate in continuing education, taking classes dealing with subjects relevant to this profession.

 

Fees:

My fee for services is $125 for individuals per 50-minute session. Clients will be notified regarding a fee increase with at least 2 months’ notice. Clients are responsible for arriving on time for their appointments. A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations. As a client of an Oregon Licensed Professional Counselor, you have the following rights:

  • To expect that a licensee has met the qualifications of training and experience required by state law;

  • To examine public records maintained by the Board and to have the Board confirm credentials of a licensee;

  • To obtain a copy of the Code of Ethics (Oregon Administrative Rules 833-100);

  • To report complaints to the Board;

  • To be informed of the cost of professional services before receiving the services;

  • To be assured of privacy and confidentiality while receiving services as defined by rule or law, with the following exceptions: 1) Reporting suspected child abuse; 2) Reporting imminent danger to you or others; 3) Reporting information required in court proceedings or by your insurance company, or other relevant agencies; 4) Providing information concerning licensee case consultation or supervision; and 5) Defending claims brought by you against me;

  • To be free from discrimination because of age, color, culture, disability, ethnicity, national origin, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, or socioeconomic status.
